The National Institutes of Health Office of Rare Diseases, the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke and the Pediatric Neurotransmitter Disease (PND) Association will present the first symposium on Pediatric Neurotransmitter Diseases.  We hope you will join us. 

The overall objective of the symposium is to share and discuss the most up to date information relevant to the best clinical practice and research of Pediatric Neurotransmitter Diseases. 

The symposium will bring together clinicians, scientists, caregivers and NIH program officers.

Invited guests and speakers will join together to integrate information from various disciplines relevant to PND�s and 1) overview testing approaches to identify PND�s 2) identify promising new avenues for research 3) foster collaborations among researchers in the field 4) coordinate approaches to clinical studies and trials and 5) assess the future role of gene therapy and stem cell research in treatment of the PND�s. 

The symposium should be of interest to anyone with a background in the neurosciences, child neurology, developmental disabilities, metabolics, genetics, and neurology nursing.
